For the second year in a row Moncton Northeast members celebrated the arrival of spring and a new construction season with an evening of music, food and networking. Nearly 250 people participated in the Association’s second annual Spring Thaw, this year held in the Ballroom of Moncton’s Delta Beausejour Hotel on Friday night, May 2.
During the early part of the evening those in attendance were serenaded with sounds of Clinton, while later the carpet got rolled up and everyone kicked up their heels to hard driving rock and roll tunes provided by the Rockinn’ Fiddle Blues Band.
Spring Thaw is an annual networking event drawing construction industry practitioners from throughout the province and from as far away as Halifax. It is an opportunity for industry people to meet and greet in a relaxed social environment.
During the evening a 39” TV was raffled off with the lucky winner being Ron Leger of RCM Fabrication. Proceeds of the raffle, $765, were donated to Steps for Life, a walk sponsored by the Association for Workplace Tragedy Family Support (known as Threads of Life) , a Canadian charity dedicated to supporting families who have suffered from a workplace fatality along their journey of healing.
Already plans are underway for next years’ Spring Thaw, so if you missed it this year, mark it on your calendar for 2015.
